Name: Aimery le Gode. It is pronounced like Aymehree. Kinda like 'Hey Marie!' except not. He will tolerate being called Aims or even Amy but that is because he doesn't realize those are female names. 'Mister le Gode' makes him laugh.

Physical Description: Aimery is 27. Aimery's face is handsome and androgynous, the latter to his dismay, and he has a cleft chin, dimpled cheeks, and pale blue eyes. He is of average height (5'11"), and is quite lean; he eats well and stays very active, but just isn't able to build much muscle. He keeps his brown hair short and he is always clean shaven - mostly because he has hardly any facial hair, and has only shaved a handful of times in his life, none of which were even necessary

He likes his clothes to be neat and well made, preferring to let the quality of the materials and talent of the tailor shine instead of adorning himself with trinkets and decorations. Aimery has a strong fondness for close fitting, finely tailored suits, usually in grays or blues with contrasting ties. When he's dressed down, he usually wears fitted, low-necked shirts, generally in dark colors, over fitted pants. Sometimes they are leather pants. He always has a scarf, neckerchief, or tie even when dressed down- it stemmed from feeling vulnerable without a hood or cloak clasp or something covering his throat, and is now just his signature of sorts (he read about having a "signature" in Cosmopolitan magazine).

Here is a (possibly NWS but with barbie-style parts, and fyi he doesn't actually have anime eyes) ref sheet showing his build, scars, tattoos, and piercing. In all, he has 16 notable scars: a castration scar, a jagged line on his left forearm from a suicide attempt, a large mark near the middle of his chest (and his back) from being impaled by a flaming sword, and 12 on his back from his childhood. Those last are hardly noticeable and could easily be mistaken for minor recent scratches.

His tongue is pierced and in general he wears a clear acrylic post in it so that it is not easily spotted. The tattoos and nipple piercings are due to a much regretted drunken outing with a friend, and Aimery is as ashamed of them as he is his castration scar; the symbolism in the tattoo is far too revealing of his sexuality for him to be comfortable with anyone other than lovers seeing it.

World Information:Aimery is from England, circa 1203, and is as historically accurate as possible. In Warwick he was minder to Gundred de Beaumont, the daughter of Waleran de Beaumont, the Earl of Warwick. As far as Aimery was concerned, that's all that was important. The King may have been off fighting in Normandy, but Aimery didn't particularly care because he'd never marry or have kids, so the future of England or politics beyond the household was irrelevant. His focus was on his job: protecting, attending, and being the confidant of the Earl's daughter. He was one of the highest ranking servants in the house, above his own mother. Overall, he "liked" his lot in life, though it hurt him that sometimes he was treated as if he were a handmaiden with a sword and his "contentment" stemmed from knowing it was all he could ever do.

Bete Noire, was a panfandom game; it is a "City of Power" that draws in people from all places, times, and universes. It was generally comparable to modern Earth in population, technology, and culture, though supernatural and highly advanced people/ideas/etc were fairly common. He liked the city for all the opportunity and chance to status-climb it offered him; Aimery founded and managed le Gode Hostel, a large, multistory, many room, mostly free place for newcomers to the city. It was hard on him and he did a fair amount of shady things in an attempt to maintain it (nearly all the Hostel's funding was stolen or otherwise ill-gotten) but having a beautiful, successful hostel and presenting himself as a Good Person to everyone was worth it to him. He liked the city and his life there so much that his guilt for what her perceived as leading to its destruction led to him attempting suicide (thinking if he died maybe things would be fixed, though this wasn't the only factor in his attempt). Later, after he realized how stupid that was, he made even more sacrifices for the city- even going so far as to make a deal with the devil, not an easy thing for a man who still considered himself to be a Good Christian.
Personality: Aimery works hard to present himself as a paragon of medieval noble manhood. He is always immaculately dressed and perfectly submissive to his betters- though he doesn't consider many to fit that, not anymore. He is careful to always be polite, generous, and never to show off his refined manners more than is socially appropriate. He doesn't always accomplish his goal of appearing perfect, and sometimes his attempts come across as a genuinely inflated sense of self worth. Sometimes it is, but usually it is a front that he has spent years perfecting. Aimery feels a great deal of insecurity about himself and is particularly sensitive to any perceived slight against his masculinity. Calling him 'pretty' or 'delicate' or any remotely feminine adjective is a good way to put him in a bad mood. When he feels slighted, he responds not with violence, but with biting sarcasm.

He is a fine swordsman given his stature and late training (which is to say, he can do it, but he'd really rather not), and he is well educated compared to the average man of his time and rank, though he's not exceptionally intelligent. He is clever and adaptable though, and without the glass ceiling of his previous life, has embraced his thirst for knowledge with both hands and eagerly learns whenever there is an opportunity. Unafraid to ask questions, he usually notes why he's unaware of something ("That's a bit after my time.") and proceeds to soak up as much information as he can. He's also fond of magazines and romance novels, though he doesn't always understand the social context. For example, he thinks Women's Weekly and Vogue are feminist magazines.

Before his time in Bete Noire, Aimery was resigned to be eternally unfulfilled. Life was completely hopeless for him, he would never marry, have children, own property, or do anything but look after his ward and eventually her children. He was serious, distant, and his friends (many called him friend, but he would class them as close acquaintances) described his personality as "an acquired taste." What was the point in really bonding with people when his life didn't matter? Chronic depression and incredibly low self esteem kept him in a functional state of apathy that he couldn't even consciously recognize as that, his only joy in taking care of Gundred and pleasing his 'friend' John, living vicariously through them. He was "happy" in that he had it as good as it could get, while still feeling empty inside.

The city gave him a new chance. No one in Bete Noire knew of his castration or his history, to them he was just a skinny, youthful looking medieval man. There he could finally attempt to reach people and make something of himself instead of living as the tightly wound robot he was. He's still fairly serious, but much more willing to laugh and joke, his teasing and mocking now usually fond and affectionate instead of bitter and jealous. Aimery is good to his friends and treasures them, trying to do what a good friend should- sometimes its even because he wants to and not entirely because he wants them to reciprocate. He's willing to lend a sympathetic ear or a helping hand whenever its needed... as long as it doesn't interfere with his other responsibilities.

That's not to say he's happy or over his issues or completely adapted. It's just that now he's aware of his problems, has labeled and identified them, and is working at changing them. He still struggles with depression, low self esteem, and alcoholism. The latter is how he tries to cope with the former, using alcohol to drown his sorrows and give him the liquid courage to ask for what he wants and behave as he wishes he would normally. Aimery has made some attempts to limit his drinking after his suicide attempt, but he frequently falls off the bandwagon.

While most of his experiences in Bete Noire while drunk were positive, it also causes his temper to flare, bringing him as close to real anger as he can get. It tends to bring his medieval racism and sexism to the surface, two things that he has struggled to wipe out. Aimery is very aware of that while those things were standard and normal in his time, they're not socially acceptable now and are wrong. He keeps them both completely internal, never saying anything about the matter and trying hard not to let them effect what he does, and he mentally scolds himself whenever he realizes he's been doing it anyway. Part of him resents having to reformat his world-view considering that, compared to men of his time, his opinions were already very liberal.

As much as he is trying to open up, there is still much that he hides. He's ashamed of his sexuality, of his disability, and prefers not to speak about his early life if at all possible. Part of Aimery wants to grow into the 'scandalous' persona he wears when he goes out drinking, but mostly he wants to cling to his propriety and be seen as an upstanding individual and perfect man. It is a balancing act he has yet to perfect.

Talents/Abilities:: He is extremely tidy, good at organizing staff and running a household. Aimery has a lovely singing voice and is a very good rider, both of horses and motorcycles. He's also capable of defending himself with a sword and has some experience with handguns, though he's never used either in actual combat.

Sexuality:Aimery doesn't really 'get' sexual orientations, as it's a modern concept and he has only been 'modern' for a few months. The idea of love between men or between women is still somewhat foreign to him (despite having been "in love" himself) but he understands that there can be sexual activity and intimate bonds, just not like-the-troubadour-tales romantic ones. That said, he knows that he is "a gay" or "homosexual". He was never ashamed of wanting men, but feared people knowing that he acted on those urges as homosexual sex (not desire specifically) was a sin. Sexuality as an identity is a complex thing and he doesn't have the best grasp on it, and I rue the day that someone tries to explain sex vs gender or non-binary gender identities to him.

His single sexual relationship in Warwick shaped Aimery's self esteem and view on his sexuality; it was with a man over twice his age who gave no reciprocation whatsoever and all of their encounters involved Aimery being tipsy at best. Aimery has since learned that not only is he capable of physically enjoying sex, but he also doesn't need to be drunk to 'allow' himself to be intimate and there are men who don't mind his disability so he can be choosey about who he is with. He still has trouble with internally acknowledging his consent sometimes and he is still extremely focused on his partner's pleasure in bed, but he doesn't feel like he's meant to be used anymore.

Aimery likes bad boys or ex-bad boys- men with self-confidence, self-control, and a dangerous streak. That self-destructive attraction originally stemmed as much from his 'he's in charge therefore I'm not sinning' as it was his craving for power-by-association, but now it is mostly the latter. He enjoys knowing that his partners could hurt him (be it physically or socially) but don't, and has no problem using his relationships for personal gain for either party.

BASICALLY he's gay and used to be all "welp it'll never be good for me but I want to anyway so I'll get drunk and give blowjobs to the one creepy guy that likes me because then at least I can pretend it's satisfying" but now he's like "holy shit guys are actually attracted to me? and it can feel awesome? and they'd rather I *wasn't* drunk? /starts growing like a self-respect chia pet".

Here's an explanation of why he's an eunuch, how it effected his body, and how his dangly bit works. Select it to read it; I'm spoilertexting it because it may be triggery due to mentions of torture at the start and some people might find castration squicky in general.

Aimery was tortured when he was 13 (see history) during which an attacker stomped on his genitals and completely ruptured one of his testicles. This caused a ton of pain, a lot of swelling, and attempts at treating it via bloodletting just led to a bad infection. So Aimery was castrated, leaving him with a slightly-raised oval scar where his scrotum used to be. The scar itself is numb and he has very little sensation around it. He doesn't mind it being brushed, but he hates having it purposefully touched.

Puberty had just gotten started when he was castrated, so he has some adult development, but not much. He has thin, sparse hair on his arms and legs, very little pubic and underarm hair, and no hair on his chest, back, and thighs. The lack of testosterone is why he is so lean and has difficulty keeping muscle tone; fat has a tendency to settle on his chest and hips, so he spends time every day exercising to try and keep his body as masculine looking as possible. His penis is small, managing 5 inches on the rare occasions when he is fully erect.

As for actual function goes, he doesn't have much. Aimery is more interested in pleasing his partner, the general intimacy of sex, and indulging in his oral fixation than about actually getting off. He can orgasm, but it takes a great deal of time, foreplay, relaxation, and heavy, intense prostate stimulation to accomplish. It's usually not worth the effort as far as he's concerned, since it's only marginally better than foreplay and is a great deal more work. If he peaks, yay! If not, then as long as he got to participate in another man's orgasm he's satisfied.

And if anyone cares and wants to see his kinks, here is his rh.greydawn.net profile, which was created in response to a meme.

History:Pre-Bete Noire History:
Aimery is the product of an unusual pairing: Guilhelms de Cambrais, a former troubadour, and Isabella de Bohun, a well bred Norman woman who shared blood with several noble families. The couple married a few months before his birth, and Isabella occasionally referred to her son as a "happy accident." Isabella's dowry included a manor near Coventry and some fiefs, which meant that the de Cambrais family was better funded than Guilhelms' line of work would provide. Marriage did not settle down his carousing ways, and though he doted on his wife and child, he spent much of their income on gambling and drinking. As soon as one debt was paid, he would bury himself deeper in with another. He also had a habit of getting into drunken brawls and disappearing for weeks at a time. Isabella made a point of teaching her son proper manners and arranged for him to receive lessons from their parish priest, so that his education would not suffer as a result of his father's recklessness with money.

For Aimery, his early life was a happy one. He noticed his mother's depression and the gradual decline of their lifestyle, but he was just a child who didn't understand the significance. When he was 13, his father disappeared for over a month without a word as to his whereabouts. Isabella sent out letters to her family and asked around to try and find him, but no information was forthcoming. By the time that Guilhelms had been missing for almost two months, some men came to their manor. They claimed they'd been hired to find Guilhelms and that he had slighted their patron, Lord de Stuteville, beyond measure, asserting that he had racked up a sizable debt over the previous year but incurred it under a false identity in order to avoid repayment. To make matters worse, Guilhelms had been caught sleeping with the noble's wife, then killed two of de Stuteville's men and stole a fine destrier during his escape. The ruffians were not meant to collect money, but to exact revenge.

Aimery and his mother rarely speak of what occurred that day, citing a carriage accident as the cause of their faded scars on those few occasions that they must explain. They were badly tortured but once the men determined that neither mother nor son knew where to find Guilhelms, they decided to spare their lives, and left. Aimery was injured badly and in much pain. Within a few days, Isabella had to castrate him to save his life. Soon after, she received a letter from one of her cousins, Maud, offering to shelter them should Guilhelms not return. Isabella was grateful as she feared that either the men would return or someone even worse would come along, so as soon as Aimery was well enough to travel, they packed their things and left.

They traveled to the town of Warwick, not far from their home, as Maud's husband was the Earl there. They took the surname 'le Gode' in order to distance themselves from Guilhelms' ill deeds, though much of the town soon learned their history. Isabella was a busybody and demanded a job; she was put in charge of the castle's kitchens. Aimery helped her for a while, but Maud adored him and within just a few months, he was spending much of his time attending her and her children. When her oldest son was old enough, the castle's Master-At-Arms began teaching him and Aimery about fighting and horsemanship. Eventually he was tasked with looking after the Earl's daughter, Gundred, and she became the center of his life.

(in bn history coming up uh at some point)
